David C. Ogbuaku - President

Dr. David Ogbuaku hails from Umuọshikai Eziama Ntigha where he was born to Mr. Johnson Uwaọma Ogbuaku and Mrs. Elizabeth Ogbuaku both of blessed memory. He obtained his primary education at St. Matthias’ Anglican School, Eziama. After the war, he continued his education at Boys’ Technical School, Aba where he completed and won Eze I.A. Ikonne’s scholarship. After working briefly at Lever Brothers and Flour Mills Nigeria Ltd, both in Apapa, Lagos, he continued his education at South East London College, London, UK where he earned Full Technological Certificates. In 1981 his continued quest for education brought him to the USA where he earned B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and M.S. in Engineering from PVA&M University, Texas. Upon completion, he was employed by Ford Motor Company, Dearborn, Michigan where he worked for 29.5 years. While there he earned a US patent for his work -Power Steering Pump Apparatus. He also continued to study part time and earned another Masters degree in Product Development and finally a Doctor of Engineering Degree with specialty in Manufacturing Systems from Lawrence Technological University, Southfield, MI. David currently works at Ford Detroit Chassis LLC. He is married to Ifeọma Ogbuaku and they have four grown children. As an ordained minister of the gospel, he is a volunteer preacher at Washtenaw County jail in Ann Arbor, MI and at Fairlane Senior Center in Detroit, MI. He has translated the Picture book “God Watches Over You” to Igbo language, “Jehova Na-eche Gi Nche”. David served as NiNA’s Financial Secretary from 2020 to June 9, 2024. He currently serves as NiNA’s president.

Ntigha in North America (NiNA) is a charitable organization, dedicated to promoting cultural, economic, educational, healthcare and social activities of Ntigha in North America and beyond, fostering fraternal relations between people of the ancestral community of Ntigha in Africa and the people of North America.
